The Air Before Spring, Dunwich Beach

An original oil painting, painted outside directly in front of the landscape. This work is part of my Summer 2026 collection, The Sea is Calling. 

Painting en plein air is at the heart of my practice. I take my paints out into the landscape and work quickly in response to what's happening around me – the changing light, weather, colour and movement. Each painting captures one particular place and moment before it changes again.

A print for the Dunwich Heath fire

Dunwich is a particularly special part of the Suffolk coast for me, and somewhere I've returned to paint many times.

Following the devastating wildfire at Dunwich Heath in July 2026, I've chosen one work from this collection to be released as a limited edition fine art print.

100% of proceeds from this print will be donated to the National Trust's Dunwich Heath appeal, helping the landscape and wildlife recover following the fire.
